2.6L won't stay running

If your 2.6L will crank and start but won't stay running, it could be a bad alternator.

MarkB.nv says: The fuel pump relay is initially switched on by the starter circuit (i.e the fuel pump won't run until you crank the starter), then switches over "run" mode but the alternator has to be producing to keep the relay switched on.

So if you have a bad alternator and need to run the engine on the battery just to get home, you need to make a 3" long jumper to bypass the relay, using 12-14g insulated wire with 1/4 spade terminals. Plugs into the relay socket so that the juice flows through even without the alternator producing.
